Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

Starfocus does not directly collect any personal information. Your focus sessions, discovered stars, tags, and preferences are stored entirely on your device. The only data processed by third parties is in-app purchase data via RevenueCat and anonymous product analytics via PostHog, as described in the Third-Party Services section below.

Local Data Storage

All data you generate in Starfocus — including focus session history, discovered stars, custom tags, and app settings — is saved exclusively to your device's local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you opt in to iCloud sync.

Device Permissions

Starfocus may request access to certain device capabilities to provide its features. All data from these permissions is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

• Camera (ARKit) — Used for the augmented-reality star map mode. Camera frames are processed on-device in real time and are never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• Location — Used to calculate accurate star positions for your geographic location. You may alternatively enter coordinates manually. Location data is stored locally on your device only.
• Notifications — Used to alert you when a focus or break phase ends. Notification content is generated locally and does not involve any external service.

iCloud Sync

Starfocus Pro users can optionally enable iCloud sync to keep their data in sync across multiple Apple devices. When enabled, your focus sessions, discovered stars, and tags are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework.

This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Your iCloud data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to us.

Third-Party Services

Starfocus uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect device identifiers, IP address, app and OS version information, and purchase-related data (such as receipts and subscription status) to validate and manage your purchases. This data is retained by RevenueCat in accordance with their own data retention policy. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Starfocus uses PostHog for anonymous product analytics. No name, email, or personally identifiable information is included. Analytics data is processed on PostHog's EU-based servers. You can review PostHog's privacy policy at posthog.com/privacy.

Apple may also collect information in connection with App Store purchases, as governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not use any advertising, tracking, or crash reporting services.

Data Deletion

Because all data is stored on your device (and optionally in your personal iCloud account), you have full control. You can delete all data at any time by clearing the app's data from your device settings or by uninstalling the app. iCloud data can be managed through your iCloud account settings. Purchase data held by RevenueCat is retained per their data retention policy and can be addressed through their support channels.

Children's Privacy

Starfocus is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Third-party data processing through RevenueCat is limited to anonymous purchase validation and does not target or identify children. If you believe a child under 13 has made a purchase without parental consent, please contact us.

Your Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have certain rights under the GDPR, including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. As we do not collect personal data directly, most of these rights are exercised through Apple (for iCloud data) or RevenueCat (for purchase data). We do not sell your personal information.

For any privacy-related requests, please contact us and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users within the Application. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
